One-for-One Giving.

It is important for all readers to engage with books that provide mirrors to their own lives and windows into others’ lived experiences. Rise Up Against Racism’s Community Antiracism Reading and Engagement (CARE) Program brings communities together and encourages antiracist learning.

CARE Program: We identify communities and partner with them to construct Little Free Antiracist Libraries as part of our one-for-one giving model.

By providing children and adults with ready access to books that elevate Black voices, our goal is to inspire greater understanding so that together we can take action against racism. If you’re interested in stewarding a Little Free Antiracist Library through Rise Up Against Racism’s CARE Program, please submit an application below.

“It’s up to all of us – Black, white, everyone – no matter how well-meaning we think we might be, to do the honest, uncomfortable work of rooting it out. It starts with self-examination and listening to those whose lives are different from our own. It ends with justice, compassion, and empathy that manifests in our lives and on our streets.”

- Michelle Obama
