About Us

We are friends, we are mothers, and we are activists. With the horrific deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and so many others, we felt compelled to take action against racism and start locally within our own community. This was particularly important to us because our city, Walnut Creek, California, is predominantly White. We are passionate about engaging families and children in this work, as well as building a sustainable and enduring organization that will have a lasting impact on communities everywhere. By providing access to Black stories, diverse perspectives, and elevating those voices, it inspires us all to better understand racism and injustice, in order to actively dismantle it.
