Little Free Antiracist Libraries: Size & Scope

We are seeking artists to transform our Little Free Antiracist Libraries into functional pieces of community art. The dimensions are outlined in the diagram to provide artists with an idea of size and scope.

View the gallery at the bottom of this page for examples of our past commissions or meet our artists.

The Specifics

  • In an effort to elevate those living and working in our local community, artists must be based in the Bay Area

  • Compensation is $750 (artists to supply their own paint/materials), $375 to be paid upon approval of the concept, and the balance paid upon completion

  • To make our purpose clear (and as an homage to Tiffany Jewell), each of our libraries must feature the text: “This Little Free Library is Antiracist”

  • Please note: If you aren’t interested in tackling the lettering, please let us know and we will coordinate that portion of the design internally

  • Artists must work with paint and be mindful that these libraries will be outdoors and must be weatherproof
